Unexpected book. During the month of July 2009 one of the most recent and sophisticated open street markets of rare and ancient books was held at the city port of Santa Maria, in the Sal Island, Cape Verde Republic. There were found two, until then unknown, Bible volumes of 45 lines, believed to be printed around 1440 in Germany, in perfect condition and with a total of 1251 pages. They were sold for 150 Euros.

A vision of publishing
Last moth was presented in Buenos Aires one of the most interesting projects of publishing produced in recent years in Latin America. ‘Antilibros, la editorial creada por Pablo Marchetti, Mariano Lucano, Fernando Mazzeo y Daniel Riera, fundadores de la Revista Barcelona, intervino el espacio Ultra, el martes 8 de septiembre, para dar su ‘Antimanifiesto’ y presentar sus primeros cuatro libros: Caprichos, de Lucano; Dialecto pequeño burgués, de Marchetti; Ejercicios para la mano izquierda, de Mazzeo y Familia y propiedad/vergüenza nacional, de Riera.’

'Pensamiento alternativo'
The CECIES is the project of ‘Pensamiento Latinoamericano Alternativo’, one of the few initiatives that, based on Buenos Aires, have as aim the promotion and development of the local thinking in Latin America. The CECIES published the first ‘Diccionario de Pensamiento Alternativo’ in 2008 and is at the moment at the point of editing the second volume. |
